When you press this footswitch, you can "punch-in/punch-out" of a specific part of your loop and overwrite all previous layers. This is useful when you need to fix a very small part of a loop. If you connect an external expression pedal to this ¼" input, the external expression will control parameters assigned to expression pedal B. When an external expression pedal is connected, the internal expression pedal will only control parameters assigned to expression pedal A.
The MX5 features a convenient "hands free" edit mode which allows you to adjust any parameter mid-song without having to stop playing and bend down to make the changes.Simply select the model that you want to adjust, select the parameter, and then use the built-in expression pedal to fine-tune your settings! Simple! The expression pedal is also fully assignable within each preset and can be used as a volume or a wah wah pedal in addition to tweaking preset parameters. Record and Reamp In Classic Mode, you can assign one parameter to each expressional pedal (A and B). Using the toe switch will select the other expression pedal and deactivate (bypass) the current expression pedal’s parameter. For example, if you assign a wah pedal to Expression Pedal A and a volume pedal to Expression Pedal B, only one of them will be active at any time; when you are controlling the wah pedal, the volume pedal will be bypassed, and vice versa. Yes, you can connect your HeadRush MX5 to your Mac or PC's USB port, then go to your global settings, and enable USB Transfer Mode. Once you're in this mode, the HeadRush MX5 will show up as a mass-storage device (like a USB drive) and you can drag and drop to easily transfer your rig presets, model presets, and setlists. Models can be freely combined to form a Rig (HeadRush’s term for a preset), a process that is based around the touchscreen, with or without the use of the encoder knob. Each rig has 11 slots, and these can be arranged as a single 11‑slot chain, a chain of three that then splits into two parallel three‑slot chains, each feeding a two‑channel stereo mixer, whose output feeds the final two slots, or two parallel four‑slot chains, which are mixed together to feed a final three‑slot chain. Saved rigs are stored in the MX5’s Rigs folder. Once you’ve built your rigs, you can group these into Setlists, which are also stored in their own eponymous folder. Naturally, the Setlist feature is useful in live situations, but it also gives you an extremely convenient way of organising rigs. As with IRs, Rigs and Setlists can be managed on a USB‑connected computer.Effects are excellent, but if pushed we would argue units such as the Boss GT-1000 Core and Line 6’s HX Stomp have the edge on that score. Still, we would wager that with the size of this unit, many players would choose to keep their favourite stompboxes in circulation and integrate them to the signal path via the effects loop. And remember, the MX5 has an expression pedal, which could give it the edge. Can I assign half of my footswitches to control models, and half of my footswitches to control rig selection at the same time? For customers in outlying areas of the country, the price of the Extended Warranty may be marginally higher, due to the potential for higher collection and redelivery transport costs.

Yes, just simply tap the magnifying glass icon on the top bar of the Rig View screen and you can search through all of your presets using the QWERTY-style touch keyboard that appears. Note: If you are currently using a setlist when you tap the magnifying glass icon, you will only search within that setlist.
