About this deal

The lightweight construction makes it an ideal portable solution and shaped cut outs help with positioning around obstacles. It is NOT designed for lifting but is used for seated patient transfers by bridging a small gap, say between wheelchair and bed or wheelchair to toilet etc.

Elevating units require more space than the bed, as the scissor mechanism alters the position of the bed slightly as it elevates. The prescribing, selecting, fitting and maintenance of bed rails needs considerable care to avoid injury. Some people refer to these as a Banana Board because they are in the shape and colour of a banana; hence the term ‘banana board’. Anti-slip design】: With an anti-slip design on the back, the transfer board is placed more securely, increasing safety during use and preventing patients from falling and being injured. Designed for use with the Transfer Glide Sheet, this Lateral Transfer Slide enables easy transfers between beds, trolleys, tables and treatment couches. It is placed under the person sitting in bed, and enables him/her to slide or be slid backwards into a stable position, but not to slide forwards again. Limbs, for example, can be trapped in large spaces between bars, in the gap between the end of rail and headboard, between the mattress and lowest rail of the device or in the gap as a result of the weight of a patient compressing the mattress.

This Curved Transfer Board is designed to enable people with limited strength and mobility to assist with functional transfers. The board is placed under the user’s hips or thighs to bridge the gap between two surfaces, facilitating safe and smooth transfers. Most consist of a sheet or pad with a stitched-in sensitive electrode, which is placed underneath a draw sheet. Safe and Secure Transfers: Banana boards provide a stable platform for transferring individuals, reducing the risk of falls or injuries during the transfer process. If a person is unable to take any of their weight through their legs, advice should ALWAYS be sought from a therapist as to the safest method of assisting or moving them out of bed.Handling belts are used to help guide the person whilst he/she is standing up or sliding across a board and to help give the person more confidence. Flexible Transfer SlideThe Flexible Transfer Slide is designed to allow non or semi weight-bearing patients to transfer between two surfaces either independently or with the assistance of a nurse/carer. The hoist has a powered lift (mains or battery) but the swinging sideways movement is manually operated.

Lastly, the tapered edges are ideal for slipping underneath you efficiently, while the tough, durable design can hold up to 200kg. The non-stick pads will keep the board in place, while the patient moves from surface to surface, while the tough board will continue to hold their weight. Sometimes another solution may help instead, or the local council or health service may provide an appropriate service. However, most people find their arms are not long enough to do this while in a seated position, particularly if they are well built, or the mattress is soft and allows their hands to sink down into it. The inside of the glide is made of a material that will easily slide one way, but cannot slide the other way.

It is essential that bed rails are suitable for the person who is using them and compatible with the particular beds being used. It is designed to be easy to use, with the whole transfer taking little time depending on the level of mobility from the user. A handling belt worn by the person can make it easier for a carer to help guide him/her around in a semi-standing position or across the board.

An air filled platform first moves through 90° to bring the platform to the horizontal, lifting his/her legs. Mobile hoists lift efficiently but are quite difficult to move especially in confined spaces and across carpets. A sprung mattress with continuous wire edging should not be used, as it will make it difficult to profile the bed. The board has an impressive 200kg SWL which is higher than most competitor boards in the marketplace. Ideal for lateral transfers to or from chairs with armrests, this Curved Transfer Board is made from sturdy birch wood ply with rounded corners and tapered edges to ensure smoothness and comfort.Users can improve their independence as they move from one surface to another with either zero or limited assistance from a single carer.
