About this deal

His black mind, heart, and soul make him an intriguing and unpredictable character, and I found myself both hating and loving him in equal measure. Rina Kent studied my reading preferences and was like, ‘Well, Ali will be all over this’ and created Aiden King. His fingers are back to my bra again, but instead of tracing like earlier, his thumb and forefinger latch onto my pebbled nipple through the cloth and he pinches. The one scene that triggered me was when she hit silver like yess silver is a bitch but the whole scene gave me second hand embarrassment like if you want to hit anyone hit Aiden he’s the one with her it just cringed me out.

Can we talk about Xander and Kim because there’s clearly something between them I want to see what the deal is with him because he’s clearly obsessed with her but such a prick to her . This is a dark high school bully romance, mature new adult, and contains dubious situations that some readers might find offensive.I'm a spazzy band geek with a saxophone, way too much inner delinquency, and a lack of acceptable maturity. I'll preface this review by telling anyone that hasn't read the book yet that it might be smart to hold off until the rest of the series is available because I'm nearly pulling my hair out over here since I decided that I HAD to hear this book right away and couldn't hold. Hopefully, we finally get some of Aiden's POV, because so far, the story has been in Elsa's entirely. I come across gems like this very rarely in the dark romance genre; this book is the real deal, it is no pretender and holds no punches!

She spends her private days in London laughing like an evil mastermind about adding mayhem to her expanding universe. Regarding the narration, I actually found the female narrator okay but the male narrator didn’t work here and I didn’t like the back and forth, male/female approach to the dialogue. His many sides draw me to his character, wanting to peel off the layers of his facade and to understand him deeper. She hates herself for having an attraction to Aiden as much as she hates the guy himself, but she doesn’t know why (and so do we but i think more will be revealed in subsequent books). I'm so confused about this and it's bad marketing not to have these ducks in a row so whomever is responsible should take a look at that page and fix it. I know how it started, but what is it she is at risk for developing–because at first, I thought it was some genetic thing, and then we find out ‘oh-no worse.

I could have done without reading about a h who acted like a disgustingly concerned (step)mother, what with her trying to dissect Aiden’s thoughts and actions and trying to peek into his oh-so-black-soul and trying to read his oh-so-black-mind! I can easily say, without hesitation, that Aiden King was one of my favorite dark romance genre heroes. I enjoyed this book more than the previous one because I think the main characters and plot are more developed, so it feels more complete to me. at times, I was even confused about what I was reading like the plot sounded promising, but it could have been delivered way better.

She was competing to be in the top ten percent at the super elite high school but they were rarely in class and she was never studying or doing homework. turns out it’s actually quite hard to get into high school based books when you’re older than the characters. She is training both character and reader to feel affection for the nightmare and molding us to love our cruel bully. I have read dark romances but this book right took dark romance to a whole new illegal level and I won't tolerate that sorry not sorry. First he bullies her by turning the whole school against her on her first day, then later he bullies her into almost everything she does.

Initially, I expected it to be a pot of cliches – some revenge sort of motives, the heroine and her best friend both outcasts, the hero’s best friends being jerks – the typical bully romance recipe. What’s worse; It was the wrapping paper of shock value content and a pity party for two of my favorite characters. Here's a little suggestion to the author: "If the only purpose of your book is steamy romance, at least do it well. Prepare to clutch your pearls if you can't deal with sexual situations that aren't exactly consensual. Bits and pieces sneak through in flashbacks and dreams, and I was trying to piece everything together along with Elsa.Ali endorses public libraries, Outshine Watermelon Bars, Erin Condren Planners, adopting from Animal Rescues, and coffee from Einstein’s Bagels.
