About this deal

It serves no other purpose or provides any scientific accuracy. Still, it is a discrete, affordable, high-quality device that puts out visually stunning lasers to transform your surroundings while drawing very little energy. Like many other star projectors, there's a 'shooting star' function, although, in our Sega Homestar Flux review, we explained how we'd like this to be at random intervals, or in a different place each time so it isn't as predictable. It has an automatic switch-off after 15, 30 or 60 minutes function. Bliss Lights SkyLite 2.0, although superseded by the Evolve as mentioned above, is still an excellent star projector that features most of the same functionality, just not Google or Alexa voice control. It looks different because it is 'wheel-shaped' rather than spherical, but it slots nicely onto a bookshelf without taking up much space. Here's one for space fans and paleontology enthusiasts alike. The second novelty-shaped projector in this guide and it's surprisingly capable in terms of functionality, and during our Dinosaur Egg Galaxy Star Projector review our children loved it! The 5-Watt LED projects pin-sharp images across the whole projection, from edge to edge. The operation is quiet, and there are three sleep timers for automatic shut-off. There's no remote, app control, or in-built speaker, but these aren't functions you'll need if all you're doing is selecting your desired disk and switching the projector on to gaze at the stars.

For a non-scientific projector, consider the BlissLights Sky Lite Evolve. This projector's primary purpose is to create an exciting, colorful atmosphere for parties, bedrooms, gaming rooms and beyond. Like the Pococo, it has a small, discreet, spherical design, and you can control the lights and lasers using a Smartphone app. Operation is manual rather than digital, but you can access additional informative descriptions of the pictures on the slides online using a provided 'secret code.' This allows children to learn more about the different space objects and concepts depicted in the slides and adds fun and mystery to learning. During our Atmosphere Smart Galaxy Projector review, we were impressed by its sleek design that's sure to delight many: it's modern and compact, allowing the user to place it anywhere in the household without ruining the aesthetic. The unit can be adjusted to four angles, making it flexible enough to project from your selected surface onto the wall or ceiling. I settled on this one based on the mid level price point without compromising on the key benefits that a planetarium offers as opposed to a star projector. This projector is bright, has a great range of focus, is easy to stabilize, insert and remove discs, clean the lens and discs and not smudge them upon insertion, can be charged and removed for use without the cord making for a great portable or outdoor projection option when at places outside of just home, is aesthetically appealing in the pink and blue ombré, can use a number of disc brands including the plethora available for the orzorz star projector (note - la view discs are not compatible with this product, however). This was a key reason I went with this option as it provides for a plethora of additional disc options to choose from on the market that isn’t isolated to this manufacturer alone.

If you are looking for a high-quality star projector that produces bright, colorful, and sharp images, this is a great choice.

We think the Pococo Galaxy projector is a great, reasonably priced buy. It does what it is supposed to — it projects high-quality imagery onto any surface to immerse you in the wonders of what the universe has to offer, maintaining a static picture or slowly rotating image. BlissLights Sky Lite EvolveThe nebulas are bright and endearing, complimented perfectly by the hue of the blue/green lasers. This is a great option for anyone shopping for a mood-enhancing star projector (rather than a scientific one). ★★★½ Aurora Borealis Northern Lights Star ProjectorIt's highly customizable, the patterns are realistic and the music rhythm mode is impressive. This is one of our favorites. ★★★★½ Encalife Atmosphere Smart Galaxy Star Projector: Although it is called a Galaxy Star Projector, like most others, this is more of a mood-setting light, showing colors and patterns that reflect galaxies and nebulas with lasers that you could associate with a starry sky.★★★★ As a projector, this Pococo model serves its purpose exceptionally well. The images projected are crystal clear — once you've focused them — bright and vivid. If you're projecting onto a close proximity surface, the projection will appear in quite a prominent circle. The further away you move the projector, the less harsh the circular edge will appear, resulting in a far more immersive experience.

POCOCO Galaxy Home Realistic Constellation-2 - Discs for POCOCO Galaxy Home

This is an unusual entry on our list, given that it only has one function. That said, we have included it in this guide as an inexpensive 'faff-free' star projector, though as we discussed in our BlissLights Starport USB star projector review, we use the term star projector loosely. Despite being an inbuilt Bluetooth speaker, which can often be poor quality, it speaker delivered a surprisingly high-quality performance with excellent sound clarity and detail. The adjustable sound settings are a nice bonus, allowing you to customize the sound to your liking and to different genres of music. When we see a star projector we like the look of, that has plenty of functionality and sits at a reasonable price point, we get hold of one for ourselves so we can put it through its paces and give it an honest hands-on review. The Pococo Galaxy Star Projector is a worthy addition to this guide, and it is a good rival to the National Geographic Astro Planetarium and the much more expensive Sega Homestar Flux. During our full Pococo Galaxy star projector review, we found it a good value star projector with decent build and projection quality. The image can be rotated in its stand and moved 360 degrees using built-in motors. It works best when projected from a distance of two meters. The lens, made by Bresser, has a focusing wheel that allows for easy image adjustment. Like many star projectors, it can automatically shut down after 30, 60 or 120 minutes, which is helpful if it's used by a child who wants to fall asleep under the stars in their bedroom. It also has a 'shooting star' mode, which projects a 'meteor' every 40 seconds. There is a shooting star function, but this leaves a little to be desired, and we think it's an unnecessary add-on. If you're looking for a good quality but simple star projector, to project real-looking imagery into your space at home, we can't really think of a reason to choose a more expensive model over this one.
