Key context: The Wagner private military group is in Belarus after Lukashenko helped broker a deal to end the group's short-lived rebellion against Moscow. Ukraine says as many as 5,000 fighters are already in the country. A popular Russian joke goes: “A Ukrainian boy writes a letter to Santa, ‘Dear Santa, I want Russians to shoot you down so that you fall next to my house. You know, she’s not really a parkour runner at her age, so we gotta take care of her,” she says cheerfully. Dierskaia’s joke destroys her co-hosts, and Zagaikevich can’t stop laughing. “Go ahead and laugh. I was just saying I love my grandma,” Dierskaia shrugs with a smile.
