About this deal

Keep in mind that I now am preferring the Frogg Toggs poncho over my zPacks cuben fiber poncho which only weighs 2. I know it’s a bit of a risk to use a poncho in this type of environment with overgrown trails, but I’m going to give it a shot for the rest of the year. It's not open at all on the sides - there are slots on the sides to poke your arms out, but your arms would get pretty wet if you used poles. I like to be able to put my rain gear on and off without stoping to take off my backpack, so the Frogg Toggs would not be my first choice, but I'm going with a couple of other people who may need gear, hence the question.

which created sleeves, and used the excess material from the sides to add a little to the sleeves so it came down to my wrists and added a strip along the back to make it longer when wearing the pack. However, with a poncho this is not a huge concern as you're getting plenty breathability via that design. I also knew that a thick vinyl poncho, having worn them in the past, would be heavier, stiffer to move in, and make it more difficult to reach my pockets. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. As expected, when the snaps are all undone and the poncho is opened to its full size, the open poncho measures 200 cm x 136 cm (79 in x 53. The hood has a draw-string to close it around your head and keep it from blowing back in high winds.Breathability: I don't find that the material itself actually breathes–at least not compared to the regular Frogg Toggs poncho. It took a Little effort as I was working alone and it’s hard to model and take measurements at the same time but it wasn’t difficult and I’m happy with the result. The Ultra-Lite2 poncho weighs 9 ounces and is constructed from ultralight breathable and waterproof nonwoven polypropylene with welded waterproof seams. Hi Mark, I've read many of your detailed comments over the past few months and I really appreciate all the solid advise you share with others.

I once had a Ferrino Trekker, but it has a metallic lining inside and just putting it on made me start to sweat. The FT poncho is much more bulky than my sil poncho, so I carry the sil, which also has extra tabs to work as a UQP or pseudo Grizz beak. Durability is the major concern, which is why I went with the Frogg Toggs triple layer over the dual layer. I have a general concern (although I am unsure) if a rain jacket or poncho is considered to be "heavy duty" and/or expensive that it would also weigh more, make you sweat more, and possibly be overkill, especially on a summer Camino.I find this tape works very well in a combo of being light weight, great adhesion, and surprisingly strong for the weight. It’s a little difficult to tell where the rain protection ends and the sweat condensation begins, so when you’re on the move you’ll have to manage your body heat as best as you can.
