About this deal

Even if you have not visited the area, or travelled to the underground station with the same name, you probably recognise the name of the Angel, Islington. But with waiters bringing you pizzas and sharing platters – yep, really – it’s well worth a visit when you’re in this neck of the woods!

The southern part of the borough, south of the A501 Pentonville Road and City Road, forms part of the central London congestion charging zone and the Ultra Low Emission Zone. Although known for its epic range ofUHD screens, which are perfect come gameday, this joint also fronts a delicious food and drinks menu. The narrow building with the tower is the remains of the Angel Cinema, built in 1911, the building was the narrow entrance foyer to the cinema, which led back to a large auditorium on land behind the buildings that face onto Islington High Street. Congratulations on such an interesting article, guaranteed to make many of us get up in the loft to dust off old monopoly boxes.

There is never a dull moment - from their amazing daily happy-hours, to the eye-popping decor and even the party-pumping DJs; you're always guaranteed to be wowed at Barrio Angel. The Angel Inn became a useful stop when travelling to the City of London, as the rural area outside it was considered dangerous, with travellers having armed escorts from Wood's Close to Islington.

Plans to alter the intersection and create a layout similar to that at Old Street roundabout were abandoned and the building was saved from demolition. Not only notorious for their rooftop overlooking Islington, their chefs are whipping up all kinds of brilliant British dining, complete with some epic Sunday roasts come the weekend. Cycling infrastructure is provided in the Angel area by the London Borough of Islington and Transport for London (TfL). Have a boozy afternoon trying their varied selection of drinks, or try out one of the dishes from Belly – the pub’s kitchen with a daily changing menu that uses seasonal British produce, day boat caught fish and native rare breed meats. The pub no longer exists, and unlike in Islington, where Wetherspoon's The Angel stands opposite Angel tube station, Edmonton has had no replacement. There had long been proposals for ways in which the junction could be improved, however in the 1960s and early 1970s, a rather large roundabout was proposed as the solution for the amount of traffic using the junction, and the traffic bypassing the junction and using residential streets as alternative routes.
